The progression of my new piece, Tuscany 7

Natasha created for us a stunning triptych inspired by our shared love of Tuscany, Umbria and the artist Niki de Saint Phalle. The paintings beautifully capture the colours and light of rural Italy and add a very special touch to our living space. Natasha was wonderful to work with and very professional. Grazie” Andy and Jo Sapir

I created Tuscany 7,  as a specialised commission for Andy and Jo. Firstly I went to view the room in their house that the painting was going to occupy. I measured the space and observed the colour choices of the freshly decorated interior, the new lights they had just purchased, the furniture and fixtures. We talked about our shared love of Italy and the artist; Niki de Saint Phalle. I really wanted the piece to work perfectly within the space complimenting the colours that they like, the interior and their vision for the painting.

Below are photos showing the progression of the painting from start to finish! I used sand, mirrors, maps of the metro and oil paint to build up texture.

The finished piece in it’s new home!
